This week on the letstalkcomicspodcast we corner artist chrissamnee and ask him the hard hitting questions like “Can he get me HBO for free?” No but seriously - Chris has worked for almost every major publisher so the nuggets of serious #makecomics knowledge he drops is GREAT.
This week on the letstalkcomicspodcast we corner Aubrey Sitterson of the straightshoot podcast. Aubrey has worked at marvelentertainment as an editor on such books like #CaptainAmerica, #CivilWar, #StrangeTales and so many more. He’s also worked with Robert Kirkman on his imagecomics like #WalkingDead & #Invincible! And that’s not all! He also has a brand new book out called #worth that we also chat about!
This week on the Let’s Talk Comics podcast we welcome TNA wrestler, comics fan & EXCLUSIVE NEWS BREAK - writer! - Christopher Daniels to the show. Christopher Daniels is far from a “Bad Influence” when it comes to being a die hard comic fan. From comics inspired ring gear, to a self proclaimed “John Byrne” guy, Daniel’s comic roots grow deep making him the perfect tag team partner for comic trivia night. Standing at 6’ tall and weighing in at 224 pounds, the west coast native and I talk about his love for the industry, storytelling and how comics helped him create his Impact Wrestling persona! And thats not all! Chris was gracious enough to share some news about a new project he has coming up with superstar artist Art Baltazar of Aw Yeah Comics!
This April, Christopher Daniels teams up with Aw Yeah Comics! artist Art Baltazar (Tiny Titans, Itty Bitty Hellboy, Green Team) to bring fans a wrestling tale like no other in “Christopher Daniels And Kazarian Wrestling Aw Yeah Comics!” What would happen if the two members of Bad Influence, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, fell into the world of Aw Yeah Comics? Well a wrestling match, of course! That’s right, the former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions take on Action Cat and Adventure Bug for a no holds barred brawl for the ages (for all ages)! Debuting in April on Comixology, this one shot tale not only features a main story by Daniels & Baltazar but also includes pinups by Kazarian, Devner Brubaker & Scott McMahon as well as a backup story by Franco!
The duo will also have copies available at this years C2E2 in Chicago on April 25th for fans to enjoy. Not only that, but the comic will also be available on www.thrillbent.com and www.awyeahcomics.com.
Hi. I'm really enjoying the podcast. Its fast becoming one of my favourite comics shows. The Dan Slott, Bendis and Sam Humphries shows were stand-outs for me, as they are such great raconteurs. Following on from your Agent M interview, how about talking to other non-creators either a Group Editor like Mike Marts or a comics journalist like Rich Johnson. Anyway, either way I'll still be listening.
Hey, thanks for the note! I’m looking to get folks from all aspects of comics so you’ll start to see editors, journalists, and even fans of comics in other aspects of entertainment like wrestlers and such.
Thanks again for listening - and if you haven’t already leave a review on itunes ;) https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/lets-talk-comics/id756248890?mt=2
Hey Jim--I know you're in TN, but are there any plans for a meet up at any of the Cons? (For example, C2E2?)
I don’t think there will be any meetups this year - unless some loyal LTC listeners want to organize one and i’ll do my damndest to promote it! The plan is maybe next year to start a panel at some shows and do episodes of LTC, LIVE! Stay tuned for more!
